So, I haven't blogged on this site in a while. That is because I have been packing and getting ready to move. My stuff is very organized, but it is all in boxes! So i guess I could take a picture of the boxes? Any way So, in a few weeks I will be settled and organizing my new home, and so I will be blogging it up!! This picture below is the washer and dryer I am getting when we get to our new home. My husband promised me the ones I want for going through this crazy year of training. So, i chose the LG steam washer and dryer. I am so excited. They are approved by the asthma and allergy association because they kill most allergens like dust mites and things like that, that other ones don't. And since my boys have asthma and allergies, I am getting these!! I haven't decided which color to get. I like the blue, but I will probably choose the red!!

30 days!

Well today we have 4 weeks until we move! I just put in our 30 day notice with the apartments. Today I am focusing on my bedroom closet(the black hole it has become), and the entry way closet. I am organizing them and packing up things we don't use everyday, like books and winter clothes! I also made some earth-friendly cleaning products today that I am excited about. I realize they have nothing to do with organizing, but cleaning is just as important. Here are the recipes if you want them!

Glass Cleaner

1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup water
1/2 tsp liquid dish soap(optional)
3-8 drops of essential oil(optional -I used lavender!)

Fill spray bottle with vinegar and water, and shake gently. If you don't like the smell of vinegar(who does?) Then add essential oils.

All surface spray

1 16 oz spray bottle
2 tsps borax (you can find this at the store by laundry detergents)
hot water
1/4 tsp liquid castile soap

Put borax in the spray bottle, fill with hot water and shake until borax is dissolved. Then add soap. Spray on surface, let sit a moment, and then wipe clean.

I also added some essential oil to make is smell yummy - peppermint!!

Home organization planning

Well in a little over a month we will be in our new home and all of our furniture will be out of storage. I am so excited to completely organize our home! I am planning on taking a shopping trip and getting all the equipment for organizing the home. So in the meantime I have done a little window shopping online. Here are some of my ideas!
The colored crates I would like to do with the boys toys. Rolling storage bin, so they can just pull one out, and when they are done, roll it back in. The wicker basket would be great in our family room for toys. That way we can have some in the living room, but hide them when guests come! These are just some things I have been thinking of.

Weekly Cleaning Schedule

Today I am making a cleaning schedule. As a stay at home mom I always feel like I don't have enough time to get all the housework done and still have time for everything else, but I realize now that I have plenty of time. In fact I have too much time at home that I don't get anything done. That may not make complete sense to some of you, but it will eventually. I realize I need a schedule. And so today I made a housework schedule.

Everyday - Make beds, Clean Kitchen, Clutter control (My kids are young but they can help with this.)

Monday - Dust, laundry
Tuesday - floors
Wednesday - Bathrooms, laundry
Thursday - floors
Friday - Clean/organize fridge
Saturday - floors, laundry

I encourage everyone to make their own schedule. It may not be exactly like mine, but I have young children, so I need to do the floors and laundry all the time! I hope this helps you and I hope it helps me too! We'll see how today goes as I begin my new schedule!

Weekend if over-back to work

Well the weekend is over. Saturday our family had a fun day at the pool, and watching movies. Sunday I was so sick I was in bed most of the day, so you can imagine what the house looks like. Today I will be doing laundry, dishes, cleaning up toys and organizing the bedrooms. I am still not feeling up to par, but if I don't do it, no one will! I will be working on it today and hopefully post some pictures of my clean, organized home later today!

Ok, I am going to do one more for today since I just began the blog. Yesturday I organized my pantry and I felt sooooo much better once it was done. I am in an apartment, so I have a small pantry. So I had to make the most of it. I created categories in my pantry. The bottom shelf is pasta, rice and a space for my cookbooks. The next is breakfast items. We are big on breakfast in this house, so that takes a whole shelf. Next is canned goods. Part of my food storage is in this pantry also, so I have a lot of canned goods. The next shelf is devoted to baking essentials. I love to bake, so my four, sugar, etc takes up a whole shelf. And on the top shelf I have snacks. Hard for me to reach, and also high up so the kids can't get it without help. Well until they figure out to pull a chair over! And that is my recommendation for organizing your pantry. Of course the size of your pantry may be bigger, but just always put your food together in categories. Don't keep your flour next to your canned peaches. That just doesn't make since.

Organizing small toys

I am starting this new blog because I have come to love organization. The past 10 months I have moved 4 times. For those of you wondering why, my husband has been in military training. With 3/4 of my household in storage, and always being about to move, I have come to the realization of the importance of organization. I will shortly be in my home with all of my belongings, so being organized is most important to me now more than ever! Please bear with me while I am starting up this blog, it may take time. My first tip, is organizing small toys. If you are a mom of little boys like I am, you know that there are little cars, leggos, wheels, and all sorts of things in their room. Before I begin this one, remember, if they don't use it, or it's broken or bent, throw it out!! Buy an inexpensive door-hanging shoe organizer and hang it in the boys room. Each pocket can be used for cars and all sorts of small objects. If you lay it on the floor while you are cleaning up, it may be fun for the kids to drive their cars into the "garage" , and then hang it up!
